Raisely decided to trial the 4 Day Week in May through July 2022. We listened to podcasts, read blogs, and came up with this playbook. It worked for us and we’d love for you to use it as a guide to trialing 4 Day Week at your company. Please note, none of this is scientifically proven or statistically significant, but it worked for us!

I have added notes in each section and links to our templates, feel free to copy and make them work for you. The best piece of advice I heard along the way was to not over plan - you can’t prepare for everything that might happen so don’t stress and be open and flexible to adjustments as you go.

This playbook brings your team along the journey of creating the 4 Day Week trial with you. It is a team effort from creation to execution and best done with the help of others.

How I Work: Making the 4 Day Week work for your organisation

How is the team currently feeling? What are your thoughts on a 9-day fortnight? What are your thoughts on a 4 day work week? Does everyone hate the idea and should we stop at step 1?

Team Survey

<aside> 📝 Raisely Note and Resources We put together a team survey to understand how everyone was currently feeling at work and in life, and gauge their interest in a 4 day week.

Tip: Align the questions you ask here with the questions in the weekly check-in surveys that come during the trial. That way the feedback from this survey can be used as a baseline.

What we would change next time: When gauging interest in a 4 Day Week, we didn’t clarify we meant 80% time, not 100% time over 4 days - make sure to make this clarification.
